After over 3 years of development, we have finally reached the point where we have a version of our project management application Achievo that we consider complete enough to bare the magical 1.0 version number. Hundreds of users around the world are already using Achievo. We expect to welcome a lot of new users now that we finally reached the 1.0 milestone. A special thanks goes to all people who have helped made Achievo what it is today, by contributing to the project over the past 3 years. A full list of people who have contributed in some way to Achievo can be found in the AUTHORS file from the Achievo distribution. To those of you who are new to Achievo we would like to say: Welcome! We hope you will find Achievo a useful tool for your organization. If used properly, it can give you valuable information about the projects run in your company. For those of you who have used Achievo in the past or who are still using Achievo, I've included a list of changes since the last stable Achievo (0.8.4), which was released over a year ago. For those of you who have followed Achievo's development closely, I've included a list of changes since the last release candidate (RC3).
If you are upgrading from Achievo 1.0.RC3, an update of the source files will suffice. No database changes were made between RC3 and 1.0.0. If you are upgrading from an older version of Achievo, you should run Achievo's automatic upgrade script. After you unpacked the distribution using tar xzvf achievo-stable-1.0.0.tar.gz, see the UPGRADE file in the doc/ directory for instructions on how to upgrade your database. Upgrading is ofcourse not without risk. Don't forget to backup your data, and preferably perform the upgrade on a copy of your database instead of the original.
