Achievo 1.0.RC1 release notes - September 16, 2003

This release marks the first step towards a 1.0 stable release. We dropped several features, like PostgreSQL and Oracle support, because the demand for those features does not warrant a further delay of the 1.0 branch. In the last releasenotes, we indicated that we might integrate the new ATK Rockhopper architecture into 1.0, but given the impact that would have on the codebase, we decided to leave this until a later development version after all. Depending on the experiences of people who test 1.0.RC1, we will shortly release either Achievo 1.0, or another release candidate. If you test this release candidate, please report any issues you might find in bugzilla. We would like to thank everybody who contributed to this release. We had quite a few contributions, which is a sign that the user community is steadily growing. I hope that once the 1.0 is released, we will see an even bigger increase of the userbase.

Disclaimer

Although we deem this release candidate stable (it would not be a release candidate otherwise), Achievo 1.0.RC1 must still be considered a development release. For production environments, you might want to stick with the latest stable version of Achievo (0.8.4). If you want to help us stabilize 1.0 however, please try this new version.

What's new ?

<ul><li>In employee management, inactive employees are now hidden by default.
<li>Added fuzzy search box to the scheduler, which allows the user to more quickly add attendees.
<li>Time registration now contains a link to the scheduler, for those of you who can't remember what they were doing on a certain day.
<li>Time registration now shows a lock icon for locked weeks/days. <li>Achievo can now handle userpreferences per module. (bug #140)
<li>There is now a userpreference for the scheduler to set the default user.
<li>Replaced the old projectplanning with a graphical ganttchart.
<li>The setup.php script detects and installs newly added modules.

<li>The scheduler has a new privilege 'edit all appointments', so managers or secretaries with this privilege can modify appointments of employees.

<li>Setup script timelimit has been set to infinite. (bug #146)
<li>Fixed bug in scheduler afternoon/evening calculation. (bug #141)
<li>Date picker now respects language file settings. (bug #130)
<li>Fixed errormessage when deleting a person from a project. (bug #159)
<li>The logged in user can no longer be deleted or deactivated.
