Achievo 1.3.rc2 release notes - January 20, 2008

Disclaimer

Although we deem this release candidate stable (it would not be a release candidate otherwise), Achievo 1.3.RC2 must still be considered a development release. For production environments, you might want to stick with the latest stable version of Achievo (1.2.1). If you want to help us stabilize 1.3 however, please try this new version.

What's new ?

This release contains many bugfixes, as well as many new features. An extended list is available in the CHANGES file in Achievo's doc/ subdirectory, including the names of contributors for each change. Information about sponsorship for this release can be found in the AUTHORS file in the doc/ subdirectory of Achievo.

• Added projects category field project and projects category filter tohoursurvey.
• Added master/subproject support for project and hoursurvey.
• Added missing dirs for docmanager module.
• Added missing documents tab for quotations.
• Added executeSQL function to setup module, this makes it possible to execute SQL queries for creating tables etc. This makes it possible to use the atkMetaNode.
• Active and archived contracts are now on seperate subtabs when viewing/editing an organisation
• Fixed ATK Bug with strange chars in the AJAX dropdowns.
• Fixed bug with obligatory fields in person table.
• Removed some menu items when a user doens't have the rights for it.
• Removed contacts search from scheduler if the user doesn't have the rights for it.
• Fixed default userview database field size.
• Fixed password restrictions in the userpreferences.
• Fixed in the todo history, project id isn't obligatry.
• Fixed the Phase Template functionallty. (bug #885)
• Fixed patch 6 of the timereg module so the update from Achievo 1.0/1.1 works. (bug #874)
• Fixed missing version update for person module.
• Enlarged the project name field to 200 chars.
• Fixed filter in Master-Gantt colors.
• Fixed with adding contacts to a project. (bug #887)
• Fixed problem with projectid in time registration.
• Fixed translation of activeprojects.
• Fixed moving hour registrations in the hoursurvey.
• Updated Dutch, Swedish, Danish and Finnish language files.
• We moved to PHP5!

Upgrade Notes

When upgrading from a previous version of Achievo, a database patch is necessary. The Achievo setup.php script can take care of this. After upgrading the software, go to the setup.php script in your Achievo directory, using your browser. Login as 'Administrator', with the password configured in the config.inc.php file, and follow the instructions on screen. More detailed upgrade instructions can be found in the UPGRADE file in the doc/ directory inside the Achievo tar.gz file Note: This release contains the document manager and the quotation module. If you have an Achievo installation with the module separated from achievo you can remove them from your config.inc.php.

Note: We moved to PHP5! this is because ATK also moved to PHP5 and the support for PHP4 has been stopped at 31-12-2007 by Zend.

Translations

This release contains many new text strings. Not all of them have been updated yet in all languages. If you would like to help update the translations for the final release, please edit the language file, update the missing strings and send the result to translations@achievo.org. There is a page on the Achievo site where you can see how many Phrases aren't translated yet. See also this small howto on the Wiki for instructions.
