Achievo 1.4.0 release notes - October 11, 2009

These are the release notes for Achievo 1.4.0.
The changes in this release are listed below, as well as any issues that you should be aware of when upgrading to this release.

We would like to thank everybody who contributed to this release.

Installation Notes

To install Achievo, you need a webserver with PHP5 support, and a database server (MySQL5+ is fully supported, PostgreSQL and Oracle support is present but may not be fully functional). Unzip the Achievo archive somewhere in your webservers' documentroot, and read the installation instructions (in the doc/INSTALL file after you unzipped Achievo, or online.

Upgrade Notes

When upgrading from a previous version of Achievo, a database patch is necessary. The Achievo setup.php script can take care of this. After upgrading the software, go to the setup.php script in your Achievo directory, using your browser. Login as 'Administrator', with the password configured in the config.inc.php file, and follow the instructions on screen. More detailed upgrade instructions can be found in the UPGRADE file in the doc/ directory inside the Achievo tar.gz file

Note: Also update your config.inc.php and the configs directory with the latest configuration options.

What's new since 1.3.4 ?

This release contains many bugfixes, as well as many new features. An extended list is available in the CHANGES file in Achievo's doc/ subdirectory, including the names of contributors for each change. The major changes in this release are:

  • PHP 5.3 compatible.
  • Lot's of speed optimalizations.
  • New .htaccess file for Apache users.
  • All config options are now documented in the config directory (we now have almost 90 config options!)
  • New font for graphs which supports more foreign languages.
  • Achievo is UTF-8 ready.
  • Upgraded ATK to the latest version.
  • And lots of small bugfixes.

What's new since 1.4.0RC1

  • Fixed bug in approving hours of a period that is locked for all users. (Bug #1191)
  • Updated pim todo's, they now use the atkDataGrid.
  • Fixed multiple security vulnerabilities:
    • Remote file inclusion
    • SQL Injection
    • Cross Site Scripting (XSS)
