Achievo Howto: Achievo/Howto/Users/Exporting schedule items to Google Calendar
|
This howto explains how you can export your Achievo appointments to Google calendar. This assumes that the Achievo Ical module is installed. If this is not the case, consult your system administrator.
Important: This only works with Achievo 1.2.x!
Instructions
1. Log into Achievo.
2. Click the 'settings' link near the top of the screen.
3. Next, click on the 'ical settings' tab.
4. Assuming you only want to export only your own appointments, and not public appointments from other people, click the 'add ical setting' link.
5. Check the following tickboxes:
- Show agenda (should already be on by default)
- Show my own appointments (on by default)
- Show only my appointments (you need to turn this on).
You can leave the rest to their default settings.
IMPORTANT Do NOT skip step 5 and doublecheck the checkboxes!!!
6. Click the 'save' button.
7. You now see a list with an 'ical url'. Click the url (not the one near the top of the page, but the one in the list).
8. When asked, select 'save to disk', and remember where you downloaded the file.
9. Now, go to Google Calendar.
10. Click the 'add' button on the left, and select 'Import Calendar'
11. Click the 'Browse' button and select the file you saved in step 8.
12. Select a calender from the list of dropdowns, or leave it to its default.
13. Click the 'Import' button (not the 'OK' button!).
14. Google Calendar will tell you that it imported a number of events and add them to your schedule.
Notes
Important: Achievo will give each appointment a unique identifier. This ensures that even when you repeat the above process, Google Calendar will recognize which appointments were already in the system. So you can repeat the above steps as often as you would like to synchronize your calendar.
Note: If your Achievo installation is publicly available, you can skip step 11 through 13 and add the Ical URL that Achievo gave you in step 7, and use the 'Add Calendar from URL' import feature instead.
